Funding

There may be a range of funding options available

Local & national grants

Some local councils offer grant schemes which can pay for part, or in some cases the total cost of the installation. Go to our grants page for more information.

The Feed-in Tariff

From April 2010 electricity generated through installed photovoltaic (PV) systems earns money through the Feed-in Tariff scheme. The FiT now means that solar is a brilliant investment generating a 7% - 10% return on average.

Renewable Heat Incentive

The government have just announced the launch of the world's first Renewable Heat Incentive to encourage the uptake of renewable heat generating technologies. From October 2012 there will be a tariff for all solar hot water systems installed since July 2009.

We are currently awaiting details from the government about the rates for domestic installations, as well as the RHI Premium Payment scheme that will provide funding to help cover the installation cost of your system until the full RHI tariff comes in.
