Solar Hot Water and PV systems for schools
We have helped lots of schools go solar over the past 8 years, not only is solar a great way to save money, generate an income through the feed in tariff and reduce your carbon foot print - it is also a valuable teaching aid!
There are two different solar options for your school:
Solar electric systems
Most schools are high energy users with computers and powered white boards in every classroom. A solar electric system will turn the roof into a power station and the electricity will flow straight into the schools electrical system. With thanks to the Feed-in Tariff a solar PV system for your school could offer attractive financial benefits saving the school hundreds or thousands of pounds each year.

Solar hot water systems
Solar can work well when there is a centralised hot water store such as in kitchens and swimming pools. However in most cases schools have a low hot water demand, this together with the solar energy that is wasted when the schools are out for summer holidays can mean that solar hot water is not always a viable option.

The solar system can be used as an educational resource and we will fit a visual display in the reception so that the staff and children, a data logger may also be available where the system can be linked into school computers so the children can use the data for projects.
We are happy to come and give a presentation to staff and children about the system once it is installed, installing a solar system is a great way to boost your schools eco awareness and promote renewables.
