Solar Hot Water Heating Systems for your Home

Theromax solar hot water panelWe really like solar hot water heating systems as they are simple technology that is relatively low in cost and is very effective. They are the place to start when thinking about incorporating solar into your building, as they provide the most energy for the least investment.

The principle is straight forward. When the sun is shining, water is pumped through the solar panel and is heated by the suns energy captured by the panel. This heated water then flows through a heat exchanger, warming the water stored in your hot water cylinder. The hot water in the cylinder can then be used for washing and bathing as normal, with your boiler providing backup heating.

Typically a solar hot water system will reduce your domestic hot water bill by 50%, but if it is used carefully it may save up to 70% of you bill. Most of our clients turn their boiler off completely for six months of the year.

We currently install panels on about five houses each week, and have a range of different systems to fit most properties.  To see if your house is suitable, have a look through the links above or contact us here.
