How Solar PV works

SPV_illustration

1. Solar cells mounted on a building or frames convert the suns energy into electricity

2. The solar electricity is converted from DC current into AC current by the inverters.

3. A meter logs the total power generated by the solar system

4. The power is sent into the main fuse board where it can be distributed as needed

5. The solar electricity can be used in the building for lighting, computers, machinery etc.

6. Any extra electricity that is generated is sent back to the National Grid
