Our experienced large scale PV team will work with you from the initial stage, you might be an investor looking for an attractive project, would like your own PV system or would like to lease your roof or open space for a photovoltaic system. We can offer you sensible and honest advise on what would work for you and what to do next, and we will guide through every step of the process.

A large scale PV system involves a considerable upfront investment, if the project is well thought out and delivered it will provide a good return over a twenty five year period.
The planning stage is therefore a crucial part of the project success. At Southern Solar we start the planning stage with an in depth assessment of your site. At the end of the process we will produce a feasibility report giving you a range of options outlining the costs and benefits over the lifetime of the project.
Our PV project engineers will assess your building or land and advise on its’ potential by investigating:
• The suitability for physically supporting the PV and associated mounting equipment
• Your current electrical demand and how a PV system will affect it
• Connection of the PV system into your existing electrical supply
• Permits to connect into the grid system and any upgrading work that may be required
• Planning approval
• We create a 3-D model of the entire site and simulate shade and sunlight levels over a year to predict output
We will provide you with a range of options to consider, each option will contain:
• A suitable PV layout and fixing method
• Suggested products
• Electrical configurations
• Project plans
• An outline of costs
• An analysis of financial returns

When the feasibility of the project has been assessed we will work up the chosen option to provide a fixed price and installation schedule.
This will involve negotiating on your behalf with the relevant authorities and working with independent specialist contractors. The development phase of a project is highly variable and we will offer as much or as little support as you require. We have experience of working with DNO’s, planning authorities, financiers and investment groups and have the in-house expertise required to provide the information they need. By the end of this stage everything will be in place for installation to commence.

Southern Solar will act as the main contractor for the duration of the installation. We will manage all specialist contractor works and will coordinate them to ensure minimum disruption to the usual business.
Our experienced in-house installation team will install, test and commission the system to UK and European standards and ensure all the necessary accreditation is received. Finally we oversee the grid connection and Ofgem registration process so that FiT payments can be generated.
