Our Vision
At Southern Solar we are passionate about renewable energy and the state of our world. We believe that renewable energy and energy efficiency have a big role to play in helping the UK to reduce its' dependency on fossil fuels and its' impact on the environment. We are keen to see a world that is fit for future generations to inhabit, and are actively doing our bit to help make it so.
We feel that humanity has some massive challenges ahead of it both from climate change but also from resource depletion, and the potential economic problems that will follow. Instead of being paralysed by what appear to be large and insurmmountable problems we have decided to get on and make some changes - one house at a time.
Helping people across the south to understand whether renewable energy will work for them and more specifically, what renewable energy will work for them, is part of our daily work. We have always offered a range of products and systems as we find that one size does not fit all!
Profit is obviously important to make Southern Solar Ltd work, but it is not the reason it works. We do have to make a profit, but not at the expense of our ethics. We think our ethics are very important and we aim to be a company that adds value to all involved; both to you our customers but also to our employees and the environment at large.
We have a vision of a decentralised energy system that provides renewable heat and electricity locally. Our domestic installations are a first and important step on that path, and we hope to see many thousands more going in over the next few years. Rather than the system we currently have; with large centralised power stations providing for our energy needs, we see our installations as part of a distributed power station. A power station that changes the rules - its'owned by you for a start and the energy it provides comes from the environment directly around your building.
We are firm believers that small actions can have big effects. With this in mind we encourage all who come across us to get on and be part of the change. Simple changes in behaviour can have a large impact - particularily if enough of us do them. The goal of reducing our carbon emissions dramatically over the coming decades looks very challenging. We gladly accept this challenge and feel very positive about it. We have assisted many people to halve their carbon emissions over the last six years and know how easy it can be.
